“Six years ago, I went into huge debt, and there was no way I would be able to reimburse these debts. Since I was working overseas, I thought that I would reimburse those debts sooner than later with my salary. Geez, I was dead wrong!!!. One collecting agency after another was calling me or sending me letters.
Upon the end of my work contract, I had to return to Canada. but still in a deep hole and scared about my financial situation. From the time I landed in Canada, my worst nightmare was to see collecting agencies taking possession of my car or coming to my house. I was almost paranoid, feeling that people working with collecting agencies were following me everywhere. Desperate, I called a lawyer who did previous work for me for some advice on how to get out of that messy situation. She suggested making an appointment with people at D. & A. Macleod, which I did. When I met A. Macleod, he realized that I was close to panicking. I still remember that meeting. When I explained the situation to him, he told me that I would never reimburse these debts unless I won the lottery. Calmly, he reassured me that these collecting agencies use a lot of intimidation tactics. But despite my dire situation, he told me: I would help you, but you will need discipline. Indeed, it takes discipline. Today, thanks to D. & A. Macleod , I am free of debt. It is a very different feeling, being free of debt. I have learned my lessons the hard way. To those in a similar situation: Avoid easy credits. There is no free lunch in life.
Thanks again D&A Macleod."
